A video won't play, what to try

Most video issues are network or extension blocks. Three quick checks usually solve it.

2-min read

All our videos are hosted on Vimeo for stability and ad-free playback. If a video shows a black screen or won't start, try these:

  1. Check your school's network, some school firewalls block Vimeo. If at home it works fine, ask IT to whitelist *vimeo.com* and *player.vimeo.com*.
  2. Disable browser extensions temporarily, ad blockers occasionally break the video player. Try an incognito window as a quick test.
  3. Refresh the page. Sometimes the player just needs a second chance.
  4. Check your internet speed, videos need 1.5 Mbps+. Restart your router if you're on the edge.

Class display mode

On any lesson page, tap Class display in the action toolbar. It opens a full-screen, distraction-free video, perfect for projecting onto a classroom screen. If the regular embed doesn't work, this often does.
