What students will BUILD

Five foundations. One powerful day.

Every Next Gen workshop is built around The Trust Lab Framework — five concrete pillars that give you, and your principal, a clear answer to “what did they get?”

01Emotional regulation

Ground Yourself

Students learn to stay calm and composed when leading peers — responding rather than reacting, leading from steadiness not stress.

02Creative confidence

Spark Curiosity

The courage to try new things, take creative risks and lead with energy. Students leave with ideas, not just permission to have them.

03Connection skills

Build Belonging

How to make every person in a room feel included, valued and seen. The foundation of any leader who people actually want to follow.

04Peer leadership

Align the Collective

Getting a group moving in the same direction. Students practise facilitation, public speaking and real peer-to-peer leadership.

05Action planning

Move What Matters

Every student walks out with a written leadership plan they own — clear next steps, real targets, ready to use back at school from day one.

When your principal asks

“What will they build?”

They built the five foundations of The Trust Lab — and they walked out with a plan to use them.

The answer your champion needs in the room.

The science behind this

Not a gut feeling. A La Trobe finding.

A year-long independent study tracked the impact of our play-based programs across primary and secondary schools. Third-party analysis. No editorial influence. These are the validated outcomes.

This is why we cost more than the alternative. The alternative doesn't have this data.

What student leaders actually do

Every session follows the same arc — discovery, practice, planning. Students leave with skills and a plan they own.

01

Discover

Self-awareness, leadership styles, owning their story, confidence, empathy and a sense of belonging. All through the power of play, not death by PowerPoint.

02

Practice

Learn through doing. Immersive, hands-on learning activities where students put into practice the lessons being taught. Mistakes welcomed, comfort zones stretched, leadership growth at its finest.

03

Plan

Dedicated Action Planning time so teams can look to nail their leadership portfolios with confidence.

Next Gen FAQ

Quick answers for school leaders.

Can't find what you're looking for? Drop us a line and we'll get back to you within one business day.

Real answers, real humans.

No bots, no run-arounds.

01Primary or secondary, which is right for us?

Both. We run separate Primary (Grade 5–6) and Secondary (7–12) tracks. Each is age-appropriate in language, examples, stakes and level of facilitation challenge.

02How long is the workshop?

Half day or full day, depending on your goals. Half day is great for an intensive intro, full day allows time for facilitation practice with real groups.

03Where is it held?

Always at your school. We bring everything, equipment, materials, energy. You provide a space and the leadership cohort.

04How many students should we include?

We work best with 12–30 student leaders per session. Smaller groups get deeper coaching, larger groups need more facilitator time.

05How does it differ from Student Agency Leadership?

Next Gen is a powerful workshop, perfect as an intro, a culture moment or a one-off investment. Student Agency Leadership is a year-long program with ongoing coaching. Many schools start with Next Gen, then graduate into Student Agency the following year.

06What exactly will my students build? My principal will ask.

They build the five foundations of The Trust Lab: (1) Emotional regulation — staying composed under pressure; (2) Creative confidence — the courage to try new things; (3) Belonging skills — making every person in a room feel included; (4) Peer leadership — getting a group moving together; (5) A personal action plan they walk out with and use. Every student also facilitates a real play session in front of their peers before the day ends.

07What does it cost?

Starting from $4,000. The final investment depends on format (half day or full day), group size and location. Book a free discovery call and we'll scope it together and send a proposal within one business day.

What to say to your principal

“They'll build five things: emotional regulation, creative confidence, belonging skills, peer leadership, and a personal action plan they take back to school and use from day one. By the end, every student will have stood up and led a session in front of their peers.”
