Dale was absolutely brilliant, the guy just exudes excitement, happiness and positivity, which from a simple Teams meeting, had everyone up and about, feeling so much better about life, I can only try to imagine how brilliant he would be live.
Jason Fisher, Managing Director of CRMA
We got Dale to do some work with our staff during the Covid lockdowns, boost moral, and give our staff some things to be motivated about each day, set goals, and have some fun, even if we weren’t all in the same place.
Jason Fisher, Managing Director of CRMA
After Dale pumped all of us up, we realised a lot of our clients were in the same position, from front line staff to workers out the back, even business owners, so we got Dale to present again. Yet again, he delivered an amazing program, had everyone up and about, everyone finding new ways to make the best of the bad situation we were in, they even used it to deal with their own coworkers. Never one to rest (trust me, this guy doesn’t rest), he followed up with yet another presentation to our staff who thought they’d had as much Dale as anyone could take, but he blew them all away again! My role at L'Oréal centres heavily around engagement of our internal teams and our external customers. We first worked with Dale during the Covid lockdowns. During this time we were focused on keeping our teams connected. Dale prepared a session for our team focused around wellbeing and the importance of play. He had everyone out of their seats, interacting and laughing together. The fun session had simple takeaways that were easy to implement and the feedback from our teams was brilliant. Our customers, who are small business owners were having a tough time with their businesses closed down,

My name is Megan Lockett I am a Physical and Health Education Teacher at NIST International School, Bangkok. I loved everything about Dale's session! I particularly enjoyed: Dale's positivity. The energizers.Being active and moving for the majority of the session.Connecting with members of the department in different ways. The opportunities we had to create our own versions of games played.
Megan Lockett, Physical and Health Education Teacher, NIST International School, Bangkok
I 100% would recommend Dale's session to any educator. Our team really appreciates that we received blank copies of resources which gives us the opportunity to create our own versions for our learning contexts. I still remember a workshop I did with Dale in 2017 and I will remember this recent workshop for years to come too. I think it says a lot when there is such a positive buzz around the department when Dale's name is mentioned and when staff are using games/resources regularly in classes. Thanks Dale!
Megan Lockett, Physical and Health Education Teacher, NIST International School, Bangkok
Dale's session was last week and we are already implementing activities from the session in our lessons. We have the Daily Mission cards which we plan on using across the school too. The session has also made me reflect on my own wellness and transferring ideas to my home life too. For example reflective questions we can ask around the dinner table other than 'how was your day?'. I feel more connected to other members of the department as a result of some the sharing activities we completed.
Megan Lockett, Physical and Health Education Teacher, NIST International School, Bangkok
What I loved was how Dale got the group moving immediately. The activities he got us doing were progressive and they all had a purpose and were suitable for a range of different ages. Through participating and then having time to reflect on the different games it enabled me to use these ideas in my classes immediately.
Greg Thurlow, PE Teacher. UWC
The activities you learn are suitable for all ages, group sizes, abilities and can be easily modified to cater for your needs. It motivates you as a leader and add's tools to you own toolbox. I have found myself over the last few weeks in primary lessons using different versions of the activities I learnt.
Greg Thurlow, PE Teacher. UWC
That same afternoon after the mornings workshops I had to modify my lesson due to weather. Dale's activities were perfect for a big group of kids as we had to combine two classes. The grade 4 classes were engaged and had lots of movement and fun along the way.
Greg Thurlow, PE Teacher. UWC
I have used them in several different ways. I started in the classroom with my team teacher. Our class has many students with a variety of learning needs, and the 80 minute block can be long for them. We use some of the energizing activities to get them moving and able to come back and refocus on the learning. I have also used them with adult teams, with the intention of them going back to their classes to use them, and it has been a joy to watch them laughing together. I hope that more teachers start to use them in a variety of ways and share how they are adapting them for different purposes.
Sarah, UWC Lads
I would absolutely recommend Dale as a presenter and his website to others who are looking to find great ways to connect to others, get others to connect with each other, and make learning more fun.
Sarah, Instructional Coach, UWC Lads
I am a middle school instructional coach, and the workshops I attended were full of great ideas and ways of getting kids to connect to each other on several different levels. Dale is clearly knowledgable about how to get people to connect and how to slowly build that over time with different activities, that start with laughing! I immediately used them in my classes and have brought them to the teams I work with. It was great to even see my colleagues laughing and connecting when we tried them together.
Sarah, Instructional Coach, UWC Lads
Given a lot of ideas that can be seen in the classroom. The kids have recognised that some training was done in this area and are grateful for the responses.
Lorna, Head of Grade, UWC Lads
I am a Head of Grade and attended the workshop with my team. I loved the opportunity to learn different activities and to think about how they could be adapted to different classes and for different purposes. It was great to have a range of activities. I walked away from this workshop and literally put some of the actitivities into my next class.
Lorna, Head of Grade, UWC Lads
Absoultely. This was the best professional learning that I have had in years!

Dale's FunShops were brilliantly Fun! The name says it all. However, these sessions were simple, yet not simplistic. Dale quickly engaged participants with energetic activities that switched their brains into gear. Students walked away with smiles on their dials and understood that it was up to them to make a positive change in their lives if needed. Teachers also left with smiles and simple ideas to help better engage and educate their students while creating a more fun learning environment - who wouldn't want that

Academics and research students from the School of Psychology and Public Health have had the privilege to collaborate and engage with Dale Sidebottom and The School of Play for the purpose of evidenced-based research. All staff members received a free access to the jugar life platform for a full year and teacher already started to run games in the classroom. The games are classified based on age appropriate, length and preparation time. This makes the life of a busy teacher so much easier.
Anat Kiviti-Manor, Leading Teacher, Brighton Secondary College.
The workshop was a great success and gave us the "boost" we needed. It was relevant to all and it is very easy to action what you learned, specifically with the access to the platform.
Anat Kiviti-Manor, Leading Teacher, Brighton Secondary College.

The FunShop fostered a strong sense of connection and well-being among participants by creating an inclusive, joyful space where everyone felt encouraged to participate and express themselves.
Christina Torio, Dederang Primary School
The most memorable part of The School of Play FunShop for us was the energy and laughter shared during all activities from the board games, emotion bingo and the Nutbush dance. Everyone, from the youngest to the oldest, got involved, creating a fantastic atmosphere where we could let loose and enjoy the music. Watching each person do dance steps in their unique way brought so much joy and laughter, and it felt like a bonding experience as we all followed the rhythm together. Outside, the play activities were equally enjoyable. Everyone had fun doing the various play stations, from obstacle cou

The FunShop has positively impacted our group’s environment and mindset by fostering a more open, collaborative, and joyful atmosphere. It gave us a refreshing break from routine, where we could connect through laughter and shared experiences. This break from the usual setting helped us see each other in new ways, revealing unique strengths and playful sides we hadn’t noticed before. The activities encouraged a mindset of support and encouragement, as we cheered each other on and celebrated each small achievement, whether in dancing, or problem-solving. We hope to remember that there will be s

The games were engaging, they didn't ask to much of the students but gave them a sense of achievement while playing them.

Walking into the 5/6 classroom and seeing them engaging with each other in small groups happily and willingly. Also, them sharing their pictures of what they are proud of with big smiles on their faces! Awesome.
