Welcome
You are about to spend a year doing one of the most underrated things you can do at school, playing. Not on a screen, not against a clock, not for marks. Real play.
We know you might be the kind of student who is starting to feel "too old" for some of this. We get it. We built it for that exact you. The games are not babyish, they are designed for brains that are starting to do the work of becoming an adult.
The shape of a week
Every week, five parts:
- Overview, a short video your class watches together.
- Play, an active game.
- Written, a quiet game with a pencil or a journal.
- Exercise, something to get your body moving.
- Gratitude, a closing few minutes about what you noticed.
The "trusted adults" idea
Sometime this year your class will learn about trusted adults, the people you can talk to if something feels off. Knowing five adults you trust is one of the most adult things you can do. Your teacher will help your class map them.
A heads-up about high school
Year 6 contains some lessons specifically about what high school is like. You will probably hear scary stories from older siblings and friends. Most of them are wrong. The truth is somewhere in the middle, and we will help you find it.
Your part of the deal
Three things from us, three things from you.
- You don’t have to be enthusiastic about every game. You do have to show up.
- When the gratitude lesson feels eye-rolly, run it anyway. It is the smallest thing with the biggest return.
- When something is not working for you, tell your teacher. Every game has variations.
