Game Changers: Middle & Emerging Leaders is a full-year leadership journey for the people who hold your school together. Four full days. Four terms. One pack. Build trust. Unlock courage. Move as one.
Middle leaders translate the principal's vision into the Tuesday morning reality of a staffroom. They lead peers without positional authority, facilitate meetings, navigate difficult conversations and shape the culture of a school every single day, often with very little dedicated leadership development and rarely through learning that is practical and experiential.
Too often, leadership development for middle leaders is heavily focused on policy, procedures and theory, rather than the human skills that build trust, influence and culture. Game Changers is different. It is a year-long leadership journey built around learning by doing, using the Trust Lab framework from Wolf Logic – Leadership. Developed by the team behind two peer-reviewed La Trobe University studies and programs delivered in more than 600 schools across 25 countries, it equips middle leaders with practical tools they can apply immediately.
You've invested in your students' leadership. Now invest in the leaders who lead your teachers.
The Wolf Logic thread, Den → Howl → Hunt → Move as One, provides a clear and memorable pathway for growth across the year. Every workshop follows the same philosophy: experience first, reflect second, apply third. Through purposeful interaction, participants don't just learn the concepts, they live them before putting them into practice.
Term 1 we steady the leader. Term 2 we connect the team. Term 3 we face the hard stuff. Term 4 we turn it into sustainable positive cultures. By December, your middle leaders don't just know the Trust Lab, they're implementing it across your school community.
Building the personal core and psychological safety every team needs from its leader
Every pack begins at the Den, the place where it can exhale. Nothing courageous happens until people feel safe, and no team feels safe until its leader is steady. So the year starts not with strategy, but with the leader’s own centre, building the cross-school network whose trust becomes the licence for everything the year will ask.
You walk out with: Your copy of Wolf Logic – Leadership, a Leadership Profile report, a written core statement, a Term 1 Den Plan, and your Pack Circle, a cross-school triad for the year.
Designing team rituals and culture on purpose, not by accident
When wolves howl, they synchronise: we are here, we are together, we move as one. Most school teams have rituals by accident, not design, the meeting that starts flat, the default moan, the invisible norms nobody chose. Day 2 shows leaders how to design the rhythm on purpose, because culture isn’t what you say, it’s what you repeat.
You walk out with: A designed team ritual ready to launch, a ritual audit, a curiosity experiment for a meeting you run, and a kindness practice with a weekly trigger.
Holding standards and having the conversations other programs teach you to avoid
This is the day the whole year builds toward, and the day that silences the sceptics. The earlier days were never the point; they were the rehearsal. The Hunt is what they were rehearsing for: the hard conversation, the standard that must be held, the change that must land. Placed in Term 3 on purpose, when the trust of Terms 1 and 2 has become the licence for candour.
You walk out with: A named, dated commitment to the conversation you’ve been avoiding (opening lines rehearsed), a reusable conversation protocol, your Leadership Blueprint, and an evidence plan.
Turning a year of practice into a culture that runs without you
A pack that trains together stays together, but the real test is whether it still moves as one when the season turns. Day 4 solves the oldest problem in professional learning: the fade. Everything built across three terms gets designed into a system that runs without willpower, and every leader’s invisible wins get made visible in a showcase.
You walk out with: Your Culture Playbook (co-owned with your principal), pre and post growth data, AITSL-aligned certification, your Leadership Legacy Map, and the alumni pack, for life.
Cross-school triads meeting online twice per term: one win, one wobble, one Trust Lab pillar in focus. The honest peer conversation middle leaders never get inside their own school.
One whole-cohort call every term: hot-seat coaching, a featured challenge from the book, and guest principals who’ve lived it.
A monthly leadership idea, micro-habit and piece of research landing in your inbox, small enough to use the same week.
A pre/mid/post Trust Lab pulse plus the wellbeing measures La Trobe validated: your evidence for the annual implementation plan.
One enrolment develops the leader, equips the leader, and transforms the school for a full year. The workshops are the spark. The Academy embeds it. BetterUs Schools makes it whole-school.
Every leader receives the book on Day 1, the take-home manual for the whole year. The Trust Lab, the pack anchors, every named activity: yours to keep.
One per term. High-energy, hands-on, zero death-by-PowerPoint: every concept is experienced before it’s explained.
Every leader’s mirror: their strengths, their blind spots, and their growth edge for the year, debriefed on Day 1.
12 months of our five-module certified pathway, VIT and AITSL aligned. Module 4 mirrors this program’s Wolf Logic leadership framework directly. Normally from $295 per leader.
A full 12 months of the research-backed wellbeing platform for the leader’s entire school: daily check-ins, wellbeing action tiles, parent reports. The inclusion that changes the conversation.
12 months of full access to 1,000+ ready-to-run classroom games and brain breaks, included as a practical bonus for your own classroom.
We're the only provider whose student leaders and adult leaders speak the same framework, one culture language, from Prep to the staffroom.
Game Changers pairs naturally with Next Gen Leadership and Student Agency, your students are already learning it.
Live from our leadership events and principal workshops across Australia.
This is a year-long investment in the people who run your school every day, not a single day of PD. It includes four full-day workshops, twelve months of coaching and community, the Wolf Logic book, and full access to the Academy, BetterUs Schools and ClassBreak platforms.

Talk to us →Four days that strengthen the leadership capacity of the people who influence your school every single day is an investment that extends far beyond the participants in the room. As leaders grow in confidence, trust, communication and their ability to build positive cultures, those skills ripple through their teams, classrooms and year levels. The impact isn’t confined to four workshop days, it is reflected in every meeting they facilitate, every conversation they lead, every staff member they support and every student experience they help shape. Combined with access to the Academy, BetterUs Schools and ClassBreak platforms, leaders are equipped with practical tools and resources they can continue to use, share and embed across the school, multiplying the impact long after the program concludes.
Leading teachers, learning specialists, assistant and deputy principals, heads of department or faculty, year-level coordinators, wellbeing leaders, aspirant leaders and aspirant principals, primary and secondary, government, Catholic and independent schools.
Yes. The experiential format is the method, not the point: every concept is experienced before it’s explained, then applied to the real problems of middle leadership, the hard conversation, the flat meeting, the change that must land. Middle leaders are disproportionately responsible for driving culture day to day, and this program treats that responsibility as a serious leadership discipline, not a soft skill. Behind it sit two peer-reviewed La Trobe University studies, programs in 600+ schools across 25+ countries, and AITSL-aligned certification (Standards 6 & 7).
Yes. Many schools choose to run Game Changers exclusively for their own leadership team or as a network of schools. A dedicated cohort allows leaders to learn together, develop a shared language and immediately apply new thinking within their own context. We can tailor the program to suit your leadership structure, cohort size and preferred delivery model. Let us know your requirements below, and we’ll provide a customised proposal and pricing.
The four days set the direction; the year sustains it. Between terms: Pack Circles (cross-school triads, twice a term), a live whole-cohort coaching call each term, the monthly Pack Dispatch, and the digital tools: the Academy, BetterUs Schools and ClassBreak, turning the framework into daily practice.
A pre/mid/post Trust Lab pulse survey plus the wellbeing and connection measures La Trobe validated, each leader’s Culture Playbook co-owned with their principal, and AITSL-aligned certification with PD hours. Real artefacts, real data, not a certificate of attendance.
The next cohort is forming now. Each intake is capped at 40 leaders, small enough that the Pack Circles and cross-school relationships actually work, large enough to build a genuine peer network. Register your interest below and we’ll confirm exact dates for your region.
