Terms of Use.

DriveQuest is made by The School of Play to help learner drivers and their families practise and log drives together. These terms cover who can use it, how billing works, and the road-safety and logbook responsibilities that come with a driving app.

Your licence to use DriveQuest

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use DriveQuest on Apple devices that you own or control, for your own personal, non-commercial use, in line with the App Store Terms of Service. DriveQuest is made by The School of Play.

Who can use DriveQuest

DriveQuest is built for learner drivers and their families, and we know many learners are 16 or 17. Because of that, the subscription and household account must be set up and held by a parent, guardian or other responsible adult (18 or older). A learner under 18 may use DriveQuest as part of that household, with the consent and supervision of the adult who holds the account. By setting up a household, that adult confirms they consent to each learner in it using the app.

Subscriptions and billing

  • DriveQuest offers an optional auto-renewing subscription. All billing is handled by Apple through your App Store account. We never receive or store your payment details.
  • Your subscription renews automatically unless you turn off auto-renewal at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
  • You manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple ID’s subscription settings (Settings → your name → Subscriptions), not through us. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
  • Refunds are handled by Apple under the App Store Terms of Service.

Road safety and responsible use

DriveQuest is a companion for practising and logging drives; it is never to be operated by the person who is driving. By using DriveQuest you agree that:

  • The driver does not hold, touch or interact with the phone or the app while the vehicle is moving. Starting, stopping and interacting with a drive is done by a passenger, or before you set off and after you have safely stopped.
  • Any in-app games, prompts or activities are for passengers only and must never distract the driver.
  • You always obey all road laws, licensing conditions and the directions of your supervising driver. Road rules and safe driving take priority over anything in the app.
  • You are responsible for using the app lawfully and safely. The School of Play is not responsible for how the app is used in or around a vehicle.

Logbook disclaimer

DriveQuest helps you record practice drives and estimate hours, distances and day/night time as a convenient aid. It is not an official logbook and it does not guarantee that your recorded hours will be accepted by any licensing authority. You are solely responsible for meeting the official logbook and record-keeping requirements of your state or territory licensing authority (for example VicRoads, Service NSW, or your local equivalent), including verifying and certifying hours in whatever form that authority requires. Always check your recorded drives against your official requirements, and keep any records your authority mandates.

Acceptable use · DriveQuest

  • Use DriveQuest only for its intended purpose and only for yourself and your own household.
  • Do not enter false information to misrepresent driving hours or progress to a licensing authority or anyone else.
  • Do not attempt to copy, reverse-engineer, resell or interfere with the app or its systems.
  • Do not use DriveQuest in any way that is unlawful or that could harm others.

No warranty

DriveQuest is provided “as is” and “as available”. While we work hard to make it reliable and accurate, we do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that distances, times or day/night classifications will be perfectly accurate. The app is a practice and logging aid, not a substitute for your own judgement or your licensing authority’s official requirements.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, The School of Play is not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, or for any loss arising from your use of (or inability to use) DriveQuest, including any driving incident, any rejection of hours by a licensing authority, or any loss of data. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law or other laws that cannot be excluded.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will change the “last updated” date below and, where the change is significant, reflect it in the app. Continuing to use DriveQuest after an update means you accept the revised terms.
