The short version

We do not run any servers that receive your data. We have no analytics, no tracking, no advertising, and no third-party data brokers. Everything you create in Date Night — names, your relationship date, quiz results, memories, journal entries, photos, check-ins, streaks and planned dates — lives only on your device.

Information stored on your device

When you use Date Night, the app saves the following locally on your iPhone or iPad so the app works for you: your first name and your partner's first name, your “together since” date, your Couples Play Language results, the memories and photos you add to Our Story, your conversation and reflection responses, weekly check-ins, mission and streak progress, and any date nights you plan. This information is never sent to us. It stays in the app's private storage on your device and is included in your device's encrypted backups if you use iCloud Backup (which is governed by Apple's privacy policy, not ours).

Device permissions we may ask for

• Notifications — used only to send you the reminders you opt into (such as a planned date or a streak nudge). These are scheduled on your device.
• Calendar (write-only) — if you choose to add a planned date to your calendar, we create that single event. We never read your existing calendar.
• Camera — used only if you scan a code to start a shared session. We do not store or transmit camera images.
• Photos — if you add a photo to a memory, you choose it and it is copied into the app's private storage on your device. We do not access your wider photo library.

Subscriptions and payments

Date Night offers an optional subscription. All purchases are handled by Apple through the App Store. We never see or receive your payment card details. Apple processes the transaction and shares with us only the anonymous information needed to confirm your subscription status. Apple's handling of your purchase is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.

Children

Date Night is intended for adults in romantic relationships and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under the age of 16.

Your control and deletion

Because your data lives on your device, you are always in control of it. You can delete individual items inside the app, and removing the app from your device permanently deletes all of the data it stored. We hold nothing to delete on our side, because we never receive it.

Changes to this policy

If we change how the app handles information, we will update this policy and the “last updated” date above. Significant changes will be reflected within the app.
