§1

You said yes

Or your teacher said yes for you. Either way, you are in the cohort.

Over the next 20 weeks you will learn play-based lessons, run them with younger kids, and graduate with a real credential. This is not a participation thing. This is leadership, and we are going to treat you like a leader.

§2

What this actually is

Each week you will do five things:

  • Learn a lesson with your cohort.
  • Plan how you will deliver it to a younger class.
  • Deliver it.
  • Reflect on it.
  • Add it to your leadership portfolio.
§3

What you need from yourself

Three things:

  • Showing up. Every week. Even the weeks you don't want to.
  • Letting yourself be a beginner. The first time you run a game with younger kids you will be average. By week six you will be good. By week 14 you will be great.
  • Asking your mentor for help. They want to help you. Use them.
§4

The graduation

At the end of the 20 weeks you will graduate with a Certified Play Leader credential. You can put that on your résumé in five years. Schools and employers know what it means, that you led, that you delivered, that you can hold a room of younger kids. Most adults can't do that. You will be able to.

Now you're ready

Your first week is waiting.
